- Rogers Communications RCIb.TO said it would buy Bell's stake in Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment for C$4.7 billion ($3.46 billion) to become the majority owner of the Canadian sports firm behind the Toronto Raptors basketball team and NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs.
- An early estimate of Canada's national greenhouse gas emissions indicated a drop of about 1 per cent in 2023, but the oil and gas sector has continued to steadily increase emissions and now comprises 31% of Canada's national total.
