Wall Street's main stock indexes rose on Tuesday, with the S&P 500 hitting an intraday record high ahead of a crucial Federal Reserve interest-rate decision, after fresh economic data allayed worries of a sharp slowdown in the U.S. economy. .N

At 11:32 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was up 0.38% at 41,779.81. The S&P 500 .SPX was up 0.42% at 5,656.86 and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was up 0.86% at 17,743.988.
