Technology stocks weighed on the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 on Monday as prudent investors awaited a pivotal monetary policy decision from the Federal Reserve later in the week and most traders priced in a steep reduction in borrowing costs. .N

At 13:40 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was up 0.43% at 41,573.37. The S&P 500 .SPX was up 0.01% at 5,626.8 and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was down 0.79% at 17,544.827.
