BUZZ-China, HK's energy shares slump as oil prices extend losses

** Energy shares in China and Hong Kong slump as oil prices extend losses on Wednesday after a more than 4% plunge in the previous session

** Hong Kong's HSCI Energy Index .HSCIE drops as much as 4.4% in early trade, while China's CSI Energy Index .CSIEN falls up to 2.5%

** Oil prices fall on expectations the political dispute that has halted Libyan exports may be resolved and concerns over lower global demand growth

** Shares of oil giants CNOOC 0883.HK600938.SS and PetroChina 0857.HK601857.SS slump more than 5% in both Shanghai and Hong Kong in early trade

** Sinopec 0386.HK drops more than 3% in Hong Kong and 2% in Shanghai 600028.SS
