BUZZ-Gold miners edge lower as US dollar strengthens

** Shares of gold miners fall, tracking prices of the bullion GOL/

** Spot gold XAU= drops 0.7% to $2,479.89/ounce, pressured by a firm dollar, while investors awaited U.S. -farm payrolls data that could determine the size of the potential cut in the Federal Reserve's September policy meeting

** Top miners Newmont NEM.N and Barrick Gold ABX.TO fall 2.8% and 2.9%, respectively

** U.S.-listed shares of South African miners Anglogold Ashanti AU.N fall 3.2%, Harmony Gold HARJ.J, HMY.N down 4.5% and Sibanye Stillwater SSWJ.J, SBSW.N slips 7.1%

** Canadian miners Franco-Nevada FNV.TO drop 1.6%, Agnico Eagle Mines AEM.TO down 2.9% and Kinross Gold K.TO falls 4.8%
