UK Stocks-Factors to watch on August 8

- Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening lower on Thursday, with futures FFIc1 down 0.5%.


* GSK: The third trial over claims that discontinued heartburn drug Zantac ended in a mistrial when jurors could agree about whether pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim was responsible for an Illinois man's cancer.

* JOBS: Britain's jobs market showed further signs of cooling last month and employers increased pay more slowly, according to a survey, which will form part of the Bank of England's discussions about when to cut interest rates again.

* OIL: Oil prices edged higher for the third straight session after government data showed a steep draw in U.S. crude stockpiles, rebounding from multi-month lows touched this week.

* EX-DIVS: AstraZeneca AZN.L, BP BP.L, Natwest NWG.L, Ashtead Group AHT.L, Standard Chartered STAN.L, BT BT.L, Segro SGRO.L, Rentokil RTO.L, iNFORMA INF.L, Pearson PSON.L, Melrose MRON.L IMI Plc IMI.L and Fresnillo FRES.L will trade without entitlement to their latest dividend pay-outs on Thursday.

* FTSE: London stocks broadly rose for a second straight session on Wednesday, with gains in financial stocks and upbeat corporate earnings helping the indexes claw back most of the losses from earlier this week.
