The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq recouped some of the previous week's losses on Monday, as investors reexamined the chances of a second presidential term for Republican Donald Trump after U.S. President Joe Biden pulled out of the race. .N

At 1406 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was up 0.22% at 40,374.69. The S&P 500 .SPX was up 1.01% at 5,560.76 and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was up 1.56% at 18,003.583.
