U.S. stock index futures ticked higher on Tuesday after a holiday-extended weekend, as investors awaited a key inflation report later in the week that could test expectations of the Federal Reserve's monetary policy outlook. .N

At 7:37 ET, Dow e-minis 1YMc1 were down 0.10% at 39,116. S&P 500 e-minis ESc1 were up 0.11% at 5,327.25, while Nasdaq 100 e-minis NQc1 were up 0.22% at 18,917.75.
