U.S. stock index futures inched higher on Thursday, putting Wall Street on track to extend gains from the all-time highs hit in the previous session as a tepid inflation report bolstered hopes of interest-rate cuts. .N

At 7:53 ET, Dow e-minis 1YMc1 were up 0.04% at 40,057. S&P 500 e-minis ESc1 were up 0.08% at 5,337.5, while Nasdaq 100 e-minis NQc1 were up 0.14% at 18,718.5.
