Wall Street's main indexes slipped on Thursday after hotter-than-expected producer prices data likely muddied bets around the timing of the Federal Reserve's first rate cut and high-flying chip stocks extended their losses. .N

At 13:39 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was down 0.48% at 38,855.91. The S&P 500 .SPX was down 0.47% at 5,141.1 and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was down 0.39% at 16,114.564.
