Wall Street's main indexes slipped on Thursday after hotter-than-expected producer prices data likely muddied bets around the timing of the Federal Reserve's first rate cut and high-flying chip stocks extended their losses. .N

At 11:45 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was down 0.25% at 38,945.03. The S&P 500 .SPX was down 0.28% at 5,150.96 and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was down 0.21% at 16,144.019.
